Discover SCUBA FAQs:
Will there still be lap swimming available during the event?
Yes, two lanes will be reserved for that.
How old/big do you have to be to participate?
The minimum age of participants is 10 years; all participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian signed paperwork, and a parent or guardian at the pool during the session. Patricipant's minimum weight is 50 lbs and the maximum is 300 lbs. Note: This is different from a certification class.
Can I participate if I’ve had an illness?
Absolute contradictions from participation: regular seizures, scarring of lung tissues or other pulmonary damage, uncontrolled asthma, uncontrolled cardiac arrythmia's, any cold, flu or Covid symptoms within 7 days of pool session.
Do I need to pay if I’m only there to supervise my child?
No, but you will need to be with your child/poolside throughout the event.
Do I need to register in advance?
Yes! Pre-registration is required by noon on January 14. Don’t wait—spots are limited and fill up fast. If you are a parent who is only there to supervise your child (and you don’t want to SCUBA yourself), you may attend free of charge.
How do I register?
Register in person at the TTR Front Desk, as all participants (or guardians) must sign a waiver, release, indemnity agreement, and registration form that includes a medical statement. Full payment is due at the time of registration. The registration deadline is January 14 at 12pm. If a minimum number of participants are not registered before the deadline, the session may be rescheduled or canceled.
What should we bring?
Participants will need to bring a swimsuit with a shirt, or a wetsuit, so as to prevent the gear from chafing. It’s also helpful to have sunscreen, a towel, and change of clothes for after the event.
The following equipment will be provided for each participant: mask, booties, fins, buoyancy control device, weights, regulator with gauges, and air cylinder.
What is the cancelation policy?
Cancelations are permitted up to 7 days prior to the start of the class, with a $50 cancellation fee. There will be no refunds if canceled within 7 days prior to the start of the class, however, you may transfer your registration fee to another eligible participant (who will need to have registered before the January 14 deadline).
Can my spot be saved until I can pay in full?
Payment is required at the time of sign up; no spots may be held.
What if the weather is bad?
This class will be held rain or shine. In the event of thunder/lighting, the class will be rescheduled to February 7th from 1 to 3 pm.
